Trump has announced a North Korea-style military parade in DC on Flag Day, June 14, which coincides with the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the Army – and, in a horrible coincidence, with Trump’s 79th birthday. According to Heather Cox Richardson, “About 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles, and 50 helicopters will proceed from near the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, to the National Mall at a cost of tens of millions of dollars.”
And a response is already building. Through distributed actions and (we expect) a big one in Washington, DC, we’ll work to show the world what democracy really looks like.
We’ll keep you informed as plans develop. Meanwhile, you can click on “Register here” to get more information, access materials for planning and promoting your own local action, and stay in the loop.
The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump; it belongs to us. And on June 14th, we’re showing up to say: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
